The Chosen Child makes personalized Bible storybooks where your child stands beside the hero of a real Bible story, and every story points to Jesus. These terms explain how our website and books work.
The short version. This service is for adults. You see two preview pages before anything prints. You pay only when you order the full book. Your photos stay yours. Only upload photos you have the right to use.
1. Agreeing to These Terms
These terms are an agreement between you and the business behind thechosenchild.com, referred to here as "The Chosen Child," "we," or "us." By using thechosenchild.com or ordering a book, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
2. Adults Only
This website and our service are for adults. You must be an adult to send us a request, provide a child's details or photo, or place an order. Children should not use this site on their own.
3. Previews and Ordering
Ordering is not open yet. Today, you can reserve a book, and we will email you when the story builder opens.
When ordering opens, it works like this: you choose a story and share your child's first name and photo, and we make two preview pages with your child in the story so you can check that the illustration looks right. You pay only when you order the full book. Nothing is charged for the preview, and nothing is printed until you order.
Before you order, please check your child's name and the preview pages carefully. Your book is printed as you approve it.
4. Prices and Payment
Two formats are available: the Paperback at $39 and the Hardcover heirloom at $59. You pay when you order the full book. The price shown when you order is the price you pay for the book.
Before ordering opens, this page will explain how payment is taken and how shipping and any sales tax are shown. You will always see the full total before you pay.
5. Personalized Books and Refunds
Every book is made for one child and printed on demand after you order it. That is why we show you two preview pages first.
Because you approve your preview before you pay, you see what you are ordering before anything is charged. If a book arrives misprinted or damaged, or does not arrive, email hello@thechosenchild.com and we will work with you to make it right.
6. Your Photos and Uploads
When the story builder opens, you will be able to send a photo of your child. By sending a photo, you confirm that:
- You are the child's parent or guardian, or you have their permission.
- You have the right to use the photo, for example because you took it.
- The photo is appropriate for a children's book.
You give us permission to use the photo only to make your preview and your book, as our privacy policy describes. We may decline any photo or request that we judge unsuitable.
7. Who Owns What
- Your photos stay yours. You keep every right you have in the photos you send.
- Our stories and art stay ours. The story text, illustrations, characters, designs, and this website belong to The Chosen Child.
- Your book is yours to keep. You may keep, read, share with family, and give your printed book as a gift. Please do not copy, resell, or republish our stories or art.
8. Printing and Shipping
Our books are printed on demand and shipped by our printing partner, Lulu. When you order, we send Lulu your finished book file and the shipping name and address so they can print it and ship it to your door. Delivery times depend on the printer and the carrier.
Shipping destinations and costs will be shown when you order.
9. Disclaimers
We work hard to make every book beautiful, but the site and our service are provided "as is" and "as available." Colors on paper may look a little different from your screen. A child's likeness in an illustrated book is an artistic interpretation, not a photograph. To the extent the law allows, we do not make promises beyond the ones written in these terms.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the extent the law allows, The Chosen Child is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the site or our books. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that the law does not allow us to limit.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the state where The Chosen Child is based. If you ever have a concern, please email hello@thechosenchild.com first. We would much rather make it right.
12. Changes to These Terms
If we change these terms, we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date at the top. The terms in place when you place an order apply to that order.
